Spring Fair 2021

The annual Birmingham Spring Fair is going online. So, Bubblegum Stuff have put together a collection of helpful Buyer’s Guides to make choosing your next bestseller a walk in the park (which, at the time of writing, is still permitted under the guidelines).

The global pandemic continues to disrupt our lives and businesses but the UK and international retail industry is constantly adapting to meet the many challenges arising from Covid. And in the spirit of this, the Spring Fair 2021 is moving from its usual week-long mega tradeshow format in Birmingham’s NEC to a 3-day online event from 8th-10th of February.

The Virtual Showroom will contain over 600 brands as new products are showcased and new connections are made through a (relatively) new networking medium. Here at Bubblegum Stuff we’ve been busy putting together our video Buyer’s Guides on our YouTube channel that feature products both old and new in the Contemporary Gift category.

We’ve taken the BBC Bitesize approach and broken our gifts and games down into 10 categories to save you time. Those categories are:

  • British
  • Cool Cats
  • Drag
  • For Parents
  • Lockdown Essentials
  • Party Games
  • Plant Products
  • Quick Fire Games
  • Quick Fire Games: Celebrity
  • X-Rated

So, whatever you’re in the market for, we’re sure to have you covered.

New Opportunities

What we can’t cover you for, though, is the certain “je ne sais quoi” that comes from face-to-face interactions, which can only be facilitated by a 5-day trade extravaganza in a gigantic conference centre in The Midlands. However we think this year’s trade show will be just as great as ever. And in some ways it will be even better.

It’ll create new opportunities by enabling retailers to discover new products rather than concentrating on their regular suppliers. And it’ll also encourage retailers and suppliers to harness the true potential of tech in the way they engage, through online meetings and conferences.

This is not just a shift for 2021; this indicates a new trend in the way business will be done in the future.

Focus on Sustainability

The Spring Fair 2021 will be beamed right into your home or office and will feature an emphasis on British made and sustainable products - something that we spent a lot of time thinking about in 2020. As a result we started to produce products with sustainability in mind. Two of our best-selling products from last year - Plant Name Badges and Plant Life Support - both include recycled materials in their production and packaging.

It’s something we’re extremely proud of, as it signals a shift in our approach to designing and making gifts and games into 2021. It’s like a green New Year’s Resolution.

Contact Us

If you want to know more about these products, or indeed the ones we covered in the Buyer’s Guides, why not schedule a virtual meeting with our team via Zoom? We guarantee it’ll be more entertaining than a Handforth Parish Council meeting. It'll also provide you with an exclusive preview of our upcoming products for 2021.

And in the spirit of funny videos, why not check out our Buyer’s Guide Bloopers reel. It’s a 4-and-a-half minute highlights show of our founder and director, and our very own version of Jackie Weaver, Courtney Wood, getting his words muddled.

At Bubblegum Stuff we hope you enjoy exploring our new products that represent our light-hearted take on pop culture. And if you are interested in stocking any of our gifts and games, get in touch using our online form. Alternatively you can email or even call us!

We look forward to working with you throughout 2021 and beyond.
