The BS Blog

To prove our devotion to the church of gift giving, we’ve created a gift guide that features just as many of other peoples’ products as our own. It’s all about sharing the love, baby. Especially on Father’s Day.

Whatever way you slice it, it ain’t easy to take care of houseplants. And for most of us, easy to care for houseplants, especially those that prefer low light (living in the UK, that’s a must), should be at the top of our shopping list when starting our plant parent journey.

To add a bit of perspective in terms of the scale and reach of these projects, the total funding generated by 355,058 backers across ten campaigns (so far) is a whopping £12,391,852! 💰💰💰

It was the news story of the week. The Ever Given container ship got stuck in the Suez Canal near the Egyptian city of Suez on its way from the Red Sea to the Mediterranean.

The question still remains of how it got stuck in the first place. But what is beyond doubt is our ability to create memes that make us lol, regardless of the severity of the situation.

We totally get it. You see your friends’ indoor jungles and you go green with envy. So you pop down the plant shop, buy a load of parlour palms, only for them to die within days of getting them home. Unbe-leaf-able! Well, now you needn’t worry, because Bubblegum Stuff has got you covered with all your indoor plant care needs in 2021.

It’s the most unlikely cultural exchange of 2021. The Australians get our Plant Life Support self-waterer, and we get Married at First Sight Australia - it’s a pretty fair deal. And since Mail Online Australia has reviewed our Plant Life Support, we only think it’s fair we do the same for MAFS.
It’s International Women's Day. Often shortened to IWD, International Women’s Day grew out of the labour movement to become a recognised annual event by the UN. The seeds of it were planted in 1908, when 15,000 women marched through New York City demanding shorter working hours, better pay and the right to vote.

The annual Birmingham Spring Fair is going online. So Bubblegum Stuff have put together a collection of helpful Buyer’s Guides to make choosing your next best-selling product a walk in the park (which, at the time of writing, is still permitted under the guidelines).

A big congratulations to our Product Designer Marty Pardoe for being named as one of Mojo Nation’s 100 influential figures in the toy and game industry for 2021. It’s an incredible achievement to be named in the Rising Star category, and we’re all excited to see what this year brings for this talented designer.

It’s not all doom and gloom, though. Oh, no. Because, here at Bubblegum Stuff, we’ve put together a list of card games for 2 or more players that are a sure-fire way of passing the time. We’ve got celebrity quizzes, a name the animal quiz and even an educational game. These are funny games to play with your mates over a Zoom call that take less time to learn than a Tik Tok dance.

We’re hoping that Kim and Kanye can reconcile their differences. But if not, at least they’ll remain in the public consciousness, albeit as separate brands, through our two card games - Card Dashing and Kanye News Game - as well as their high profile careers in TV, music and fashion…
We’ve put together a list of our top 10 best Secret Santa gift ideas in celebration of our favourite time of year. It just so happens they’re all designed and made by Bubblegum Stuff. But that’s purely a coincidence - there’s no Eurovision-style judging going on here.

JOMO describes the pleasure in taking a break from social activity - especially social media - to enjoy personal time. It’s the total antithesis of the old idea of being fearful about missing out on those nights in the pub. You know, the ones where you drink endless Jägerbombs and wake up the following morning on your sofa, cold, alone, and covered in a toxic mix of shame and last night’s kebab.

With some completely baffling new lockdown rules to get our heads around, we just decided to lock ourselves away for the entire month and get stuck into some lockdown gifts, rather than bucket loads of booze. (Something that wasn’t easy, considering there were a couple of lockdown birthdays at Bubblegum Stuff!)

Roughly speaking, millennials are people born between 1981 and 1996. There’s probably a bit of wiggle room either way but that’s the Wikipedia definition of it. That means the age range of a millennial is between 24 and 39 years of age - that’s from Bella Hadid to Beyoncé.

Here’s a little guide to some emojis. More specifically, those you really don’t want to send to your Mum. They might look innocent but the world of sexting has created alternative meanings behind those little emoticons.

Warning: crude references coming up…
